Learning about religions and their festivals helps children become aware of a variety of cultural and religious beliefs, symbols, customs and traditions in a non-threatening and enjoyable way. This unit looks at the origin of Divali, how it is celebrated within its faith community and the story associated with it, and includes some suggestions for activities to try out with the children.
