Speeches Lesson Plan 4

Each lesson plan in this 'Speeches' series includes learning outcomes, success criteria, pre-lesson preparation notes, resources and a step-by-step learning sequence. In this lesson plan students write and perform a persuasive speech. The lesson begins with a brainstorm on examples of persuasive speech before students watch a persuasive speech video clip. Following discussion of the video, students analyse a written example of this type of speech. Based on what they have learnt from the two exemplars, students choose one of the provided topic cards then use the given template to compose their speeches.
