Contemporary story prompt

Trapped on the mountain

Motivating some students to write, especially boys, can be tricky. Boys generally enjoy being creative and silly with their writing but (conversely) lack motivation and structure to succeed at it. In this task, students are asked to write a contemporary narrative from a given engaging story starter. Template prompts assist with writing structure.

For more ideas and tasks to support and inspire writing with confidence, see Motivating Boys' Writing.
