“Our teaching staff work together across a big geographical spread. So iUgo is a great tool for sharing the same plan across a lot of students and staff.”
Jo and her colleague initially found iUgo while searching for digital tools that would help bring transparency for their team planning across departments and subject areas. Being in a secondary teaching space and planning with NCEA standards meant that the team usually work with existing plans and iUgo gave them the ability to plan smarter by re-using plans to modify and adapt the teaching content to new classes.
“It’s fabulous that we can easily share the same plan structure using iUgo.”
Whanganui High uses iUgo to collaborate across four learning areas in Years 9 and 10—maths, English, social studies and science. When they got together at the beginning of the term, iUgo made it easy for them to map their overarching theme or topic then distribute copies of the plan across the team so they could make it their own.
“I like that the software can be tailored to our needs. For example, we are one of the few schools nationally that teaches psychology – we’re able to put that information in the iUgo platform and tailor it to our needs.”
With support from the Essential Resources team, Jo was able to load in the school’s unique curriculum content and get flying with planning.
